Alan Launder "From Beginner to Bubka" Interview

Unread postby oakduck » Tue Jul 11, 2006 8:03 am

Bubba Sparks and Robbie Duiett hosted an Alan Launder Pole Vault Camp at the Woodlands H.S. on July 6, 7, 8 2006. On Saturday I conducted an interview with Alan Launder that lasts approximately 45 minutes. The interview is in two episodes at PoleVautWord.com. Direct Links to the episodes are below. Be patient the files are somewhat large and can take time to load.

Part 1 http://www.ourmedia.org/node/247029

Part 2 http://www.ourmedia.org/node/246968

I also am uploading mpeg videos of many drills done at the camp.

I will be adding drills to this page in the next few days so check back if you only see three drills.

Other Podcasts from PoleVaultWord such as interviews with Jeff Hartwig, Jillian Schwartz, Steve Chappell, Rick Baggett, can be heard at the link below. All of these interviewes were done by by Becca Gillespy.

This is the first time that I had ever met Alan Launder and can honestly say that he is a Master Educator of the Pole Vault. Alan's Coaching Style and his relationships with the athletes should be a model all of us U.S. Coaches should follow. It gets results.

I also want to say that Bubba Sparks and Robbie Duiett worked very hard to put this camp together and also deserve much credit for the camps success.

oakduck,

Thanks for making the interview and the videos of the drills available to everyone. That is a great reference source!
