Flats For Jumping

Unread postby HighVaultage » Tue Nov 08, 2005 1:51 pm

The Indoor Facility that is going to be holding the majority of our meets this season does not allow spikes for the polevault. The track is fine, however the Polevault runs right down the middle of a basketball court in the middle. So I was wondering if anyone had advice on a flat or some type of light weight shoe that would do me some good?

yeah any competition long distance shoe will work. We had the same setup a while back and I used marathon racers. They worked great.

I have a pair of Nike Frees and I use them to jump. They feel like spikes without spikes on them. I like em so far.

I use regular running shoes when I can't wear spikes.

Nike is making the waffle racer, which in my opinion is the best non spike racing shoe on the market as far as the vault is concerned. I jumped 15' indoors in high school in a pair of these. They are a true spike with a rubber bottom and retail for about $45 and no I don't work for Nike. I actually prefer Mizuno LJ spikes when permitted they have a huge rocker on the bottom that makes me feel like I can jump, I really can't.
