Tito Harvey over 5.81!

Unread postby lonestar » Sat Jul 03, 2004 11:30 pm

The TSU Pre-Trials Vertical Games held at Texas State University, San Marcos today, June 3rd - a USATF sanctioned event.

1 Tye Harvey 5.81
2 Jim Davis 5.50
3 Francisco Leon 4.85

Tito really looked good at 5.81 and took one shot a 5.90 before calling it a day, saving what he's got for the trials. He's looking great and definitely has a shot next week. Jim can't get a big enough pole in his hand, blowing through everything he had and even borrowing a few sticks for next week from retired 5.80 vaulter Scott Hennig, who was in attendance for this meet.
Any scientist who can't explain to an eight-year-old what he is doing is a charlatan. K Vonnegut

Also a new stadium record (5.80 Hennig '98) and the first 5.80 on an ESSX?
