hugging the pole

how do i stop hugging the pole? what are some good mental ways to remedy this b/c i know its all in my head.

A coach of mine once said to pretend it's your ex boyfriend. You don't want to hug him, you want to push him away!

WHAT!!! everyone knows that the pole is your best friend.. never let go of your friends.. and when your planting.. the pole is such a good friend that it lets you hang on it.. HANG.. not hug.. HANG!.. no hugging in public
