I love these poles they're significantly lighter and smaller diameter (good if you have small hands like me). They did take a while to come in though about a month or so from order to arrival but just in time for the practice before conference.
PR: 17'9.25" 5.42m at a real meet but it was thrown out.
Officially: 5.37m 17' 7.25"

Are you a boy? Save your money and buy fiberglass poles until you are on 15'+ poles. It is better for you to have more poles and a good series than to have a couple carbon poles and not have the right size pole.

Yes, buy 2 Skypoles. You will jump higher.

That really depends on a lot of variables: grip height, PR (14'6" if your info is current), current pole series/type, speed, take off angle/velocity just to name a few. If you're still young and learning you might want to forgo the carbons and get some cheaper glass poles as RG and Barto have suggested to other vaulters. While jumping on carbon poles is pretty cool, jumping higher is even cooler.
Whether you believe you can or cannot, you're right.

Im on a 13'7 155 spirit and a 14' 160 spirit. If a get a carbon im gonna call and have a 14'7 160 made. Would this be a good idea or should I order a 14'7 165?

The 14'7 160 is going to be 10+ pounds bigger than your 14' 160. That is a HUGE jump in pole size. I love Gill's carbon poles, but I would never recommend them to someone jumping under 15'6. Save your money and buy a PacerFx 14'6 155. That is the next pole in your series.

What exactly do you mean by the 14'7 160 will be 10+ pounds bigger? Its not higher in weight just longer.

When you go up 1 foot in pole length you are going up approx. 20 pounds in relative stiffness. This means a 14' 180 is the same stiffness as a 15' 160. Basically, it takes the same amount of energy to move both poles to vertical.

Oh ok I see what you mean. Ive been using a 14' 160 though. Is that still a big jump from one pole to the next?

Hey check this chart out: http://www.skyjumpers.com/articles/pvpr ... table.html it does a good job of showing what the next pole is. 5lb jumps are ideal, 10lb jumps are doable. Anything more than that is ill advised if you are on your long run and big poles.
