Height for age?

I am a freshman and we haven't had our first meet yet but, last year I had jumped 8'6 as an 8th grader... can anyone perfesionals tell me if that is a decent hight for my age.

i would think that 13 feet is really good for a freshman

My very first year of pole vaulting i jumped 11'6. My friend, her freshman year she jumped 9'0.

if u look at all the sr.'s rite now that are jumping high in high school they werent jumping that good as a freshman

Hayley, I dont know what state you are in, but most states have a place you can check results and top marks in your state. Look at those and compair yourself to other girls your age in your state. dyestate.com also has a list so you can find what other girls around the nation are jumping and they list the grade level of each girl. But you have to remember that some girls your age may have been jumping for two years or just started. Just remember pole vaulting is all about personal bests, you're really in competition with yourself. Pole vaulting is awesome and a great sport! Just keep working at it and have fun!
