hand grip

Unread postby stunt man » Fri Apr 14, 2006 1:55 pm

I recentely got onto a fifteen foot pole and I'm holding at the end of it but my coach says its not shooting me up fast enough and wants me to hold lower on the pole. I was wondering if lowering my grip a couple of fist would be good enough.

Holding lower on a pole will increase its relative stiffness, and it reasons that a stiffer pole will give you a greater "pop" than one that's too soft. However, if you're penetrating pretty easily into the LZ, it might just make you come through faster than you want (and not give you enough time to complete your vault).

Start moving one hand down at a time (not forgetting to move up your step a few inches each time) and see how it works for you.
