I was in gymnastics through 8th grade, then when I quit before going into high school I decided to try out pole vaulting because I thought that it looked like fun (who wouldn't want to go upside down up high? ), and because one of my friend's sister had been great at it at that high school. Once I tried it, there was no getting me to stop.

10'6" (freshman year and with horrid form~that's changed now, but I haven't competed since May)

Probably getting my 10'6" pr at a meet that was messed up from the beginning (I competed jv after I got to the meet at 8 am, but they set up the standards so that they went from right over the box to about 50 or 60 cm...since I usually vaulted with them almost all the way back on a normal setting I always hit the bar on the way up....so after some crappy vaults they figured out that they set the standards up incorrectly...but I had already gone out at a ridiculously low height...my coach protested about the standards...my name was erased from the jv competition, and I got to wait until about 5 pm that night to compete again with varsity in which I placed and got a pr....it was a long but fun day and we all ended up leaving at 10 pm or so because we all stayed with a the entire 10 fans left in the crowd to watch the guys that we knew vault off against each other.). ~ sorry so long ~
