I have the regions meet coming up soon (this Friday) and I was wondering if it would be a good idea to change spikes. The spikes I have right now are very warn down (partly because I intentionally wore them down on concrete so that if I spiked myself, it wouldn't be that bad).
Thanks for any input.

My high school coaches keep a giant pill bottle of 1/4" pyramids around for the kids to change their spikes out. Change them now because if they get too worn down they will be a big pain to get out.

As some one who very often takes chunks out of my hand/wrist i would recommend having newer spikes in your... spikes... Yes if they are newer they will slice you easier, however when your spikes are dull they don't do a great job of gripping the ground, and if you do get your feet to your hand/wrist a dull spike will take a larger chunk out of you hand, causing many more problems. Try using pyramids, and not needles, and no bigger than 1/4''

I agree here, even for running my preference are 1/4" pyramids
