The IAAF seems to generally accept marks from street vaults for qualifying purposes unless they are downhill or otherwise illegal.

Off the top of my head, Ferenc Salbert has a 6.02 (illegal runway), Galfione a 6.00, Walker a 6.00, and Chistyakov a 5.95. I'm sure there are a few others also.

Really? I've never seen video that looks like a track stadium so I always assumed it was an exhibition.

In America, USATF won't sanction records on "wooden" runways, but it's up to each country how they want to set their rules.

Pole vault star Pawel Wojciechowski broke a 23 year-old national record, Monday when he jumped 5.91 meters at the games in Szczecin in the north west.

The jump improved on the long-standing record by Mirosław Chmara set in 1988 by one centimeter.
The 22 year-old athlete is having a good season; he was fourth at the European indoor championships in March and gold medalist at the European Under-23 Championships. (pg)
