British record holder Kate Dennison was pleased after easing into the pole vault final at the European Championships in Barcelona.
The 26-year-old has not had the best of seasons this term, failing to reach the dizzy heights of the last campaign when she raised her personal best by a mammoth 20 centimetres.
At the European Team Championships in Bergen, Norway in June Dennison could only manage seventh place, ensuring she had a few butterflies in her stomach ahead of Barcelona.
But she has taken to the event like a moth to a flame.
"It was pretty tough competing in the heat but I was pretty comfortable after a slightly shaky start," she said.
"I was really nervous at the start but a few early clearances at some low heights soon calmed me down and I'm feeling good for the final now.
"It's job done for me. I had a bit of a hairy warm-up out there because I kept slipping off the pole because of the sweat on my hands.
"I really want a PB out here - before the Worlds last year I was jumping PBs and then I was jumping them after the champs as well."
