Broken Tailbone

A teammate of mine just broke his tailbone while sledding. We are both vaulters, but right now we are focusing on diving. Does anyone know whether or not he will be able to continue to dive (he's ranked #1 in the state) while his tailbone is healing? Is this going to affect his vaulting in the spring?

That sounds like a question he should ask his doctor.

I'm no doctor, but I'm gunna guess that he wont be able to dive, and I think that would prolly keep him from vaulting too.

diver too

hey,
I am a diver, and i "broke" my tailbone. I think it is going to be very very hard for him to dive. I know it is hard for me to dive sometimes, and after he does recover his butt and legs will sometimes go numb. It sucks.
But i know how hard it is to stop diving mid-season! So I hope he gets better soon.
So were are u a diver at?

I dont know much, but i know a broken tailbone takes a long time to heal and is very painful. Some doctors might let you, but seriously even if you are cleared, take it easy. If hes #1 in the state he probably still wants to be able to dive in college, which he might not if he re-breaks it.
