What were the conditions like? We are having the most rain in June that I can remember here in Texas and I heard some things were delayed Friday night.

Chip Heuser and Brandon Glenn are going to Grosseto. On friday the competion was postponed after 16'.75" (4.90) Chip was the only person to clear a height on saturday, today. there were 3 rain delays and light rain during parts on friday.

kinda crazy how the whole 2nd place thing worked out...brandon has cleared the standard for Worlds (5.10) but andrew hasn't so brandon was given the choice to just take 2nd or have a jump off. of course anyone would have just taken 2nd, but i do feel bad for andrew!

I felt horrible having to make that decision, it was probably the hardest decision i have had to make in a competition. It was by far not easy, so i guess you can say i had to seek some "council". feel horrible about not giving andrew the chance, but it was a decision i had to make. I hope he understands it's not anything personal. I had made the world standard (510) indoors and out and I was in the position to go so chose to do so.

who wouldnt have made that choice faced with a similar situation?

yes, i agree. if anyone else was faced with the same choice under the same circunstances, im sure they would have made the same choice eventhough it must have been tough.

Brandon, you made the decision you had to make. Why get into a jump off if you don't have to. I'm sure Andrew understands, even though he would of probably liked a jump off. If he had finished 2nd and you 3rd, you would have still gone. We expect to continue to see both of you guys fly high in the future.

Good luck to both you and Chip at World's!

Chip, good luck to you at Oklahoma if that is where you settled on.

Just curious, was it known prior to competition how a tie would be resolved in case normal tie-breaker methods did not resolve it?

Before the competion the official said ' since this is a championship, there would be a jump off for 2nd and 3rd place if they need to.'
