I was surprised there wasn't a topic on Albuquerque yet. So let this be it. Let's share information here.

I'm interested in:
1) Does anyone know of a way of getting a pole tube from the airport to the indoor arena without renting a car?
2) Where are people staying? At the Doubletree Hotel Albuquerque (meet hq hotel)? Are there alternatives close by?
3) Is anyone interested in holding down expenses by sharing a room? I would likely be there Fri and Sat nights.
4) Are there poles for use or for rent at this meet?
5) Is there any info about when the different age groups will jump?

1. I used www.flyawaypoles.com for my Reno trip and they were great. Cabs don't like them and the rental car is a hassle. Shipping is door to door service and no airport hassles. John if you can ship with Dan or anyone else you just split the cost. For Reno we had three people split and it was $120 each to ship two bags.

2. I know they won’t post the actual times until entries are closed. I believe they are not required to give an exact time until one week out. NEVER understood this since Boston posts it the day entries open.

3. The local guy in ABQ that knows everything is Brad Winter. I'll copy him this link and let him respond - bradleywinter@comcast.net

Actually Bubba, Albuquerque competition would be one week before I turn 65. I still haven't committed to Albuquerque. I am so frustrated with the difficulties of traveling with poles, especially when I'm traveling alone. I've written to Fly Away Poles for a quote. We'll see if it is something I can afford.

What size poles do you need? I might be able to bring some for you?

Thanks SArt. I was going to say the same. What do you need John? Seems like you were 14' 6"/160? We have that and a 65.

Thanks for the offer guys. The way I'm jumping right now, I'm using a 13' 6" 155 Pacer FX. Last indoor season I was on 160 and 165, but I haven't been able to get there yet this year. Not as much practice and conditioning I guess. Or just getting older.

Although I haven't jumped on my 14's yet this year, I could probably jump on a 14' 145 and/or 150. (Just trying to open up the possibilities.)

I am pretty sure I can provide both a 13-7, 155 and 160 (I will verify that they will be available when I go to practice tonight). For sure I will have 13, 165 & 170 with me.

I just spoke to Matti Kilpelaninen. He is going to sign up for Albuquerque also. I have committed to bringing the 13' 7" 155 & 160 for him to use with us. Again, I will also have the 13' 165 & 170.
