I've heard both yes and no.  Some hail it as a great invention.  I went to a clinic where the speaker said the TurboJav was the most worthless piece of training equipment for the javelin that he had ever seen.  I don't throw the jav, so I wouldn't know, but I've heard both.

i've heard both as well, and i dont throw either, but i've heard more of the worthless side. probably the biggest plus of the turbo jav is that you can throw it indoors....regular jav, not so much
i would check the gill website. sometimes they have good deals on closeout equipment, just make sure you get the correct weight.
