there is a drill where you get a partner and you put the pole against a wall, take 3 steps back, walk fast into the wall and jump, have you partner push you into the wall drive you knee keeping your arms out in front and away of your body, and if you collapse your arm, you wont be able to do it, so...

2 pieces of rope, each one about 4 feet long. Take the ends of each and knot them together (big knot). Now you have 2 loops. Slide them toward the ends of your pole case. Open the trunk and hood. Insert knots inside both and close them. You might put a towel between the poles and the door to preven...

Thats not a big deal then if its on the compression side. I've swung up into several poles, and to date the only break I've ever had was the result of someone else's carelessness. You should DEFINATELY see about finding some sort of storage area where you can keep your poles out of the weather. Im n...

I don't like this rule, ESPECIALLY for the high school level, because now some jackass will try to swing up on the pole when they shouldn't because they know if they don't make it, they will get another shot. This is a horrible rule to implement for high school, and I can see a lot of kids who don't...

Your biggest problem is not where your standards are, or when your pole unbends, or anything like that. You're eating fiberglass at takeoff because your plant is really low. Your takeoff looks to be a bit under and your left hand is in your face. Focus on taking off at the correct point and having a...

that would be a good rule except, are you thinking about the times you might blow though a pole, have a bad plant, etc... that could affect just one vault, and make you land deep, or off to the side, so why DQ somebody that had one bad jump when the others are good jumps? Say you go up and somethin...

Re: no tapping rule interpretation
Official: You're not allowed to touch the vaulter during warm ups. Walk up to your vaulter's biggest competitor and give him a handshake, then insist that the official DQ the vaulter because you touched him during warm-ups. This should get the point across that that particular official is borderlin...
