Serious Athletes

I've got a couple of cents to throw at this fountain. Probably because we have trained off and on together for 40 years, Bubba and I train as hard as most "serious" athletes...including a large number of world class guys. My definition of serious training is a relative scale of what your b...

"Record" by L. Jessie

I am certainly not the authority on this, and I will try to be judicious about what I have been told. Larry Jessie's record setting jumps were typically at obscure meets with few or no credible/unbiased witnesses or other ranked jumpers. Poles to Europe & Wolfgang Ritte

I would like to see some USATF team effort to collect poles and send them together (Like Gill did this year) with some reasonable time frame. Flying with poles is possible but trains are not. Master's World Championships

A few thoughts from the games. First - Thanks to all the guys who helped me through my first World Championships. The pole vaulters are without a doubt the greatest group of guys worldwide. I was unable to fly with my poles and in the attempt, I missed the shipping deadline for Gill. Individual ship...

Mike, I am sure everyone is different, but everyone is sore. Some are just blessed with great genetics and are able to jump at a relatively high level without injury. I am constantly in between some soreness or injury. Fewer this year than last, and I hope next year will be better (smarter). Bubba i...

Hey Kris

Great to meet you.....I felt the same way last year. What a great group of guys. Refreshing to find so many who are willing to help. The social side is at least as enjoyable as the competition. Good luck. Stay healthy.

See you @ the next one...Maine?

Don
